<b>6th June</b> - EWS Class 66, No.66066 hurries towards the camera leading 6M44, the 12:30 Eastleigh yard - Wembley 'Enterprise' service. This train often has a varied mix of wagons for onward movement, in the event the train comprises of 6 TEA tanks which are used to transfer Calcium Carbonate from Quidhampton to Workington, and a number of EWS Intermodal wagons

<b>8th June</b> - To provide more seats, especially during busy periods, Cross Country is returning five High Speed Trains to its routes, this provides an extra 842 seats across the fleet and an increase in luggage space. The first refurbished power cars are due to enter service in July, followed by the first complete set in September. Until then, XC are utilising Ex-Midland Mainline set XC04 to cover the diagram - 9V57 08:50 Edinburgh - Penzance and 9S66 08:30 Penzance – Dundee the following morning. The service, 9V57 is seen screaming over Hayle viaduct nearing journies end with Paxman Valenta engined 43184 leading and 43007 tailing the set. The diagram is recorded under a 'Class 9' headcode to alert signallers that such services cover long-distances therefore timeliness is essential to avoid delaying other local service on route

<b>9th June</b> - In a bid to improve capacity on the Southampton/Portsmouth and Bristol/Cardiff routes, First Great Western have acquired a number of hired Class 150 units from Arriva Trains Wales - these transfers are to allow the reforming of Class 158 units into 3-car sets. Class 150, No.150231 clatters into Truro station forming 2A52, the 11:42 service from Penzance to Newton Abbot

The move left Margam some 50 minutes ahead of schedule but are seen passing Burnham around 10 minutes late due to problems at Standish Junction in the Gloucester area

More excitement was provided shortly before booked departure time from Paddington at 23:45 when 57605 <I>'Totnes Castle'</i> failed with an ETS fault, resulting in 57604 <I>'Pendennis Castle'</i> being scrambled from Old Oak Common to assist. 1C99 to Penzance is halted at the signal for another FGW Class 57, No.57603 to clear the single line section from Yeovil leading 1A40, the 22:00 Penzance to London Paddington 'sleeper' service
